Siksika Chapter Aretias

 

The Aretias Chapter of Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority, Inc. is the chapter for our alumnae sisters. Being a sister of MSU does not stop once you complete your undergraduate degree. Our sisters continue to be active within the sorority and community while maintaining amazing lives and families. Kathy pledged while holding a full time job and attending college full time.  She has a keen interest in politics and has always been involved in local, state and international elections. In 2002, she was elected  as  commissioner to the Prospect Park Board of Education and became the first Hispanic to serve in that position as well as the first person of Peruvian descent to be elected to office in the state of New Jersey. She holds a Bachelor’s of Arts in Anthropology/Sociology from William Paterson University and a Master’s in Urban Education from New Jersey City University. She also studied in the East Asian Studies program at Princeton University.  She was recently appointed by Governor Chris Christie to serve in the  New Jersey Human Relations Council Executive Committee. Currently, Kathy works as a High School Supervisor at International High School in Paterson New Jersey, and is also an Adjunct Professor at Passaic County Community College.

Jenn graduated from WPU in Spring 2012 with a major in psychology, minor in sociology. She recently completed a Masters of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth University. Jenn is also a Licensed Associate Counselor and works as a mental health therapist. Moreover, she is currently completing her Doctor of Psychology Counseling Psychology at The College of Saint Elizabeth. Jenn has served as President, Secretary and Officer of Membership for the Siksika Chapter. She currently serves as Alumna Advisor for the Siksika Chapter.

Jenn

Kayla pledged in Fall 2011. She completed her undergraduate career at WPU in just 3 years and graduated in Winter 2013. She majored in sociology with a concentration in criminal justice and a minor in legal studies. While at WPU she sang in the choir, was an RA, achieved the dean's list, was inducted into Order of Omega Honor Society, a recipient of the Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges award, and served as secretary of the Greek Senate! She served as VP and Secretary of the Siksika Chapter. She also interned for the Passaic County Prosecutor's office. Kayla currently works for DCPP. Her goal is to become a licensed social worker and practice in the field of marriage and family therapy

Jen Rencher graduated from WPU as an English Literature major and a minor in Philosophy. While at WPU she served as a Resident Assistant,  member of Brothers For Awareness, Student Senate's Education Major Rep., Greek Senate Treasurer, United Cultural Greek Council President, and the student representative of the first Greek Life Revamp Committee. She attended NGLA as both a participant and student volunteer. She was also a two-time recipient of Who's Who Among  Students in American Universities and Colleges, and Greek Woman of the Year. She also won Undergraduate of the Year within MSU as well as Graduate Sister of the Year. She is a recent recipient of the MSU Polaris Star Award, serving as an influential sister to all of MSU . She is the current National Governing Council Historian and former Vice President. She is also the current President of the National Multicultural Greek Council. Currently,  she works as a Senior Analyst in Regulatory Reporting. She has her Series 7 and Series 63 licenses and is currently enrolled at Saint Peter's University, pursuing an MBA in Risk Management. 

Jen

During her undergraduate career at William Paterson, Natasha was a part of SAPB (Student Activities Programming Board) where she held the Lectures Chair position for two and a half years. She was also part of the T.V. Club and SPRA (Student Public Relations Association).  Her major was Communication with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism. During her course of study, she started gaining experience with broadcast starting as William Paterson's weather girl; which soon after, she became news anchor. She currently works for Union Local 464-A in Little Falls, NJ where they represent employees for supermarkets such as Pathmark, A&P, Shoprite, etc. 

Natasha

Karimah graduated from WPU with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Integrated Math and Science with a concentration in Biology, and a minor in Public Health. While at WPU Karimah participated in numerous activities and held various leadership positions. Karimah was an Order of Omega Honor Society inductee, a two-time recipient of the Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges Award, as well as a recipient of the Campus Activities and Student Leadership, Lifetime Achievement, and Women of Vision Awards. She also won Nova (Undergraduate) of the Year, the Stella Cadente Scholarship and Cacique Yuiza Awards within MSU . Within Siksika, Karimah served as: President, Secretary, Treasurer, Historian, Public Relations Chair, Alumna Advisor, Assistant Officer of Membership and Officer of Membership. She has also served on the executive board for District 1 and District 2 of MSU, and is currently on the National Governing Council as New Chapter Advisor. Karimah is also on the executive board for National Multicultural Greek Council as University Liaison. Karimah is currently fulfilling her dream by pursuing her Doctor of Medicine Degree. She is also completing a Master's in Public Health Degree. Her goal is to become quadruple board certified in Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Pediatric Cardiology, and Adult Cardiology. She is currently a member of the American College of Pediatricians, the American College of Physicians, and the American Medical Student Association.

Karimah

Melissa graduated from WPU with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, and a minor in professional sales. In addition to holding a Bachelor's Degree, Melissa also holds an Associate of Arts degree in Psychology. She is currently pursing an MBA in Entrepreneurship. While at WPU, Melissa served as Club Representative for CARIBSA and was a member of the Student Activities Programming Board. She currently serves on the executive board for District 2 as Community Service Chair. Melissa works as a Project Coordinator for Transcend Wireless. Some of her goals include becoming a mother, wife, and business owner.
